U.S. History II

This class examines the history of the United States from 1865 to 1945, by analyzing the different experiences of America’s ethnically, racially, and economically diverse population. Subjects covered include industrialization, the creation of modern America, the Great Depression, the impact of the World Wars, the Civil Rights Movement, and the changes in U.S. culture.

The objectives of this class are to help students learn about the history of the United States and to encourage them to think critically about the past, its interpretation, and its influence on current events. Tests, writing assignments, group work, and class discussions are intended to develop students’ analytical skills, and improve their writing and verbal communication abilities.
