HEATING, VENTILATION, and AIR CONDITIONING PROGRAM

Course Description:

The Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Program is an instructional program that combines classroom and practical learning experiences. This course includes the theory and application of the basic principles involved in the repairing and servicing of heating and cooling systems. Students develop skills in assembling and installing tubes and pipes, motors, compressors, control devices, valves, and thermostats while gaining an understanding of blueprints and schematics related to equipment and systems. Students must be able to diagnose equipment malfunctions and also be able to read and understand technical reference manuals.

PLUMBING PROGRAM

Course Description:

The Plumbing Program is an instructional program that combines classroom and practical learning experiences. These experiences are designed to focus on layout, assembly, installation and repair of pipes, fittings, and fixtures of heating. They will also learn the fundamentals of water and drainage systems, according to manuals, specifications and plumbing codes. Also included are the installing, repairing, operating, and testing of various types of residential and commercial heating equipment. Students gain real hands-on experience by working on the plumbing in the student built house. Students also become involved with many community service projects related to their program of study.
