         Drafting and Design
  
          Students enrolled in the Drafting and Design Program
will learn the fundamental drafting techniques necessary to
convert illustrations  from design concepts to drawings
used by professionals.
          During their first year, students will use national standards
to apply traditional drafting techniques and be able to construct
mulit-view drawings. They will learn manufacturing processes
which will provide knowledge of materials and their use.
Computer-Aidied Drafting software will be taught during the
second semester. 
          Second and third year students who have
successfully mastered the concepts of Basic Mechanical
Drawing will then learn Architectural Drawing using
again traditional methods and computer aided software. 
          Students who successfully complete  the program will
have the opportunity  to work as entry level CAD-technicians
with mechanical, architectural, and civil drafting professionals.
          Related careers which require a knowledge of drafting and
blueprint reading are; zoning officers, surveyers, construction estimators, specification writers and others.
