You can be part of a world-wide team of professionals who have built exquisite homes and buildings with brick, block, concrete, tile and stone. The masonry program here at Monroe Career & Technical Institute is the first step to become part of this exciting and rewarding career.
This comprehensive program was designed to teach you how to read blue prints , practice your skills on small and large projects as well as to become familiar with all types of masonry materials such as brick, block, tile, manufactured stone, stucco, and concrete. This is an opportunity for you to become a part of a growing team of professionals or to prepare for your post-secondary education.
The masonry program is and instructional program that prepares individuals to apply technical knowledge and skills in the laying and/or setting of brick, concrete block, glass block, ceramic tile, and related materials using trowels, hammers, chisels, and other hand and power tools. The masonry curriculum combines classroom and pratical learning experience including hands on projects. Students have numerous opportunitites to obtain on the job experience by being involved in community service projects both on campus and off. Our students have the opportunity to enroll in the cooperative education program after seven marking periods.
The masonry program is a three to four year program designed to prepair the student for employment in the masonry field or prepare the student for a post secondary school of choice.
