- - skillsusa theme, partners and programs: theme: the competition theme for the 2012-2013 school year is skillsusa: champions at work , skilled and motivated. the topic to be addressed by the contestants in the chapter display, prepared speech and promotional bulletin board contests is how our slogan, skillsusa: champions at work, relates to our national program of work in the area of professional development. partners: in 2012, more than 16, 600 teachers and school administrators served as professional skillsusa members and advisers. more than 1,100 business, industry and labor sponsors actively support skillsusa at the national level through financial aid, in-kind contributions, and involvement of their people in skillsusa activities. many more work directly with state associations and local chapters. programs: skillsusa programs include local, state, and national competitions in which students demonstrate occupational and leadership skills. at the annual national-level skillsusa championships, over 5,500 students compete in 94 occupational and leadership skill areas. skillsusa programs also help to establish industry standards for job training in the lab and classroom, and promote community service. skillsusa is recognized by the u.s department of education and is cited as a "successful model of employer-driven youth development training program" by the u.s department of labor . skillsusa emblem

letters for dalton dalton is a 9 year old little boy who has cystic fibrosis. the doctors told dalton that he might not live past the new year. so dalton said that he wanted to win the world record for the most christmas cards. our hosa members decided that we wanted to make daltons dreams come true so we went around our school (mcti) and asked everyone in their shops to sign a card for dalton. we got nearly 200 and more cards. thank you for everything. i bet dalton will really appreciate it. -hosa[ModuleInstance->Description]
