    Advanced course will teach skills such as enhanced suspension systems, diagnosis and repair of ABS- Brakes and Stability Control. Electronic ignition diagnostics, basic computer system diagnostics, dealing with electrical system problems (including shorts, broken wires, and malfunctioning lights), changing tail light sockets. Engine performance diagnostics such as engine compression testing, engine vacuum testing and the use of hand held scanners. The students perform pre-delivery inspections on shop vehicles and repair faults they find wrong with each vehicle. Electrical trainers are used with meters, test lights and other diagnostic tools. If you like electronics and want to increase your diagnostic abilities then this class is for you!

    Students will learn the background and history of the HVAC/R industry, physical and chemical properties of materials, terminologies in energies (heating, cooling, thermal dynamics, electrical and light), refrigerant cycle, refrigerants and refrigeration systems, HVAC/R toolbox, and HVAC/R measuring devices. Brazing, charging techniques, recovery and evacuation and safety procedures will be taught. Students will also learn the proper use of a four-valve refrigerant manifold, the maintenance and proper use of a vacuum pump system, the practice of refrigerant and copper tubing braising with oxyacetylene torch, and destructive joint testing and inspection. Students will also receive hands-on practice using high-pressure nitrogen cylinders, various regulators (pressure and purge), proper use of the nitrogen system in HVAC/R technology and other HVAC/R methods.     This class teaches basic stick” welding for the beginner or for those wishing to refresh their skills. Students will receive instruction in preparing steel for welding using oxyacetylene cutting equipment, high speed grinders, and power wire brushes. Using 7018 and 6010 electrodes, students will also receive instruction in preparing and welding fillet and groove welds on steel plate in the flat and horizontal position.
